SUNDAY SMILES
Cheetahs are my favorite of African felines, especially with all their beautiful quirks. For one, they have racing stripes on their faces, a poetic connection to being the fastest land animal on the planet. However, these well-known features of Cheetahs aren't their only attractive traits; Here are a few more amazing facts about cheetahs!
Cheetah Cubs are very vulnerable in the wild, but, through evolution, they've developed an incredibly specific, and seemingly effective countermeasure. As cubs, their fur is downy white up top and darker underneath to resemble honey badgers! This unique coloration prevents most predators from venturing too close in fear of not meeting a defenseless baby cheetah, and instead the harbinger of death itself, the honey badger in its stead.
We all saw the immense controversy of the 2010s when foxes were under heavy scrutiny for what they say, but no one asked the same question as what cheetahs say. That could be because scientists have known for decades, but the reveal will most definitely surprise you. Is it a roar? Is it a scream? Or perhaps, something much more delightful...
These are classified as critically endangered species!
